Nerve monitoring
Nerve monitoring in a new technology
currently used to protect against nerve injury during
surgery. It is currently being used in our ear surgeries
and salivary gland tumor surgery to protect the facial
nerve and in thyroid surgery to protect the laryngeal
nerve (nerve innervating the vocal cords).
Nerve monitoring has greatly reduced the operative time
and the risk of facial and laryngeal nerve injury during
these surgical procedures.
